Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Trander (“Trander”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the Trander mobile app and website.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Google, Trander uses Google Sign-In and Supabase Auth to authenticate you. We receive authentication information such as your Supabase user ID, email address, and profile information made available by the sign-in provider, such as a display name.

Our backend stores your Supabase user ID and, when available, your email address so we can identify your Trander account and authorize app features.

Location Information

If you choose “Near me”, Trander asks for precise location permission. We use your current latitude and longitude to calculate travel discovery recommendations near or away from your current position.

If you choose “Anywhere”, Trander can be used without sharing your current location. When a real GPS location is already available, Trander may use it only to calculate distance and direction between you and a recommended place.

We do not intentionally store your precise device location as part of your account. Location coordinates may be sent to our backend to process your request, and request metadata may be processed by hosting or operational systems.

Search and Discovery Information

When you search by keyword or request a recommendation, we process your search keyword, selected distance range, selected direction, and discovery mode. The backend uses this information to generate destinations and retrieve place recommendations.

We cache place metadata returned by Google Places, such as place ID, place name, address or vicinity, coordinates, ratings, price level, icon URL, and photo reference. This cached place data is not intended to identify you.

Purchase and Subscription Information

Trander uses RevenueCat and Google Play Billing to provide subscriptions and entitlement checks. We use your Trander/Supabase user ID with RevenueCat so we can determine whether your subscription is active.

Google Play processes payment information. Trander does not receive your full payment card details.

Device and App Information

The app and its service providers may process technical information needed to operate the service, authenticate requests, prevent abuse, diagnose errors, and maintain security. This can include request timestamps, authentication status, app configuration, and related operational metadata.

The Trander website loads fonts from Google Fonts. When you visit the website, your browser may send technical request information, such as IP address and browser details, to Google to load those fonts.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• authenticate your account;
• provide discovery, map, Street View, and recommendation features;
• calculate distance and direction to recommended places;
• provide subscription and entitlement-gated features;
• restore purchases and subscription status;
• maintain, secure, debug, and improve the app and backend;
• respond to privacy, support, and account deletion requests;
• comply with legal, security, and platform obligations.

Sharing With Third Parties

We use third-party services to operate Trander:

• Google Sign-In and Supabase Auth for authentication;
• Supabase for authentication/session services;
• RevenueCat for subscription entitlement management;
• Google Play Billing for Android subscription purchases;
• Google Maps SDK, Google Maps, Street View, and Google Places for map and place features;
• GeoDB Cities via RapidAPI for city lookup;
• Google Fonts for website fonts;
• hosting and infrastructure providers for app and API delivery.

We share information with these services only as needed to provide, secure, and operate Trander. For example, the backend sends generated destination coordinates and search keywords to place/city providers to find recommendations. When you open Google Maps or Street View, you interact directly with Google services.

Local Storage

Trander stores some settings on your device, such as distance range and direction preferences. These settings remain on your device until you change them, delete app data, or uninstall the app.

Authentication/session information may also be stored on your device by the authentication SDK so you can stay signed in.

Retention

We keep account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. We may retain certain records longer where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, billing, dispute resolution, or platform obligations.

Cached place metadata may be retained to operate and improve recommendation performance and is not intended to identify individual users.

Subscription and purchase records are retained by Google Play, RevenueCat, and/or Trander as needed to manage entitlements, comply with legal requirements, and resolve billing issues.

Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your Trander account and associated app data from within the app and from the web at /en/account-deletion/.

When we delete a Trander account, we delete Trander-owned backend account data associated with that account, unless we need to retain certain information for legitimate reasons such as security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, billing, or dispute resolution.

Some data is controlled by third-party providers. For example, Google account data is managed by Google, payment records are managed by Google Play, and subscription/customer records may be managed by RevenueCat. We will explain any additional steps needed when you submit a deletion request.

Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect user information, including authenticated API access, Supabase JWT verification, secure local storage for app settings, and restricted backend access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children

Trander is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to use the service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International Transfers

Trander and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Privacy laws in those countries may differ from the laws in your location.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and provide notice where required.
